Children and Young People in the Tenpenny Villages Benefice
Children and young people are welcomed as important and valued members of our St Andrew’s church community. They are both welcome at our services and also take part in our worship as readers, through drama & music and more recently as enthusiastic puppeteers during our All-
Most of the work with children and young people is at St Andrew’s, but children from Alresford, Elmstead, Frating & Thorrington are all welcome. Messy Church runs at both St Andrew’s and St Anne & St Laurence.
Bumps ‘n’ Babies is a delightful friendly space for expectant mums and mums with babies to meet and make new friends. There is always a listening ear and someone ready to make cups of coffee, as well as play with the babies to give you a break! It meets in The Hub on Tuesdays in term time from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.
On the first Sunday in the month at 11.00 am is All-
During the week, the under 5s meet with their carers at Scramblers on Monday afternoons between 1.45pm and 3.00pm. Giving a chance for mums and other carers just to meet up with others whilst the children and babies play, there is also a story time and songs.
On Mondays as well, primary aged children meet at 3.15pm to 4.30pm for Razmatazz Children’s Club.
During the holidays there are often Holiday Clubs or other special events for children – watch out for the next!
The XGFC Youth Group for year 6 and up currently on Thursday evenings, during term time, from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm in the Hub.
There is also a monthly Youth Service (Fourth Sunday in the month) at 6.30 pm which is always popular (and not just with the young people!)
